Sins of the Fleshapoids is één van de grote voorbeelden voor the Pope of Trash, John Waters. Het is een lowbudget-, camp sci-fi-film van Mike Kuchar uit 1965. Deze kleurrijke prent gaat een miljoen jaar in de toekomst en toont een hedonistische maatschappij waarin mensen zich gewillig laten bedienen door androids. Tot de androids revolteren... Door de combinatie van komische vulgariteit met een extreem kitscherige visuele stijl, is de film een cult-klassieker die na al die jaren nog steeds inspireert.
Gitarist Elko Blijweert (Dead Man Ray, Kiss My Jazz, Gruppo di Pawlowski, Tip Toe Topic) bracht met ‘I bambini di basilisco’ één van de beste platen van 2017 uit. Hij verzorgt een live soundtrack bij deze cult klassieker.
Sins of the Fleshapoids was a great example for John 'The Pope of Trash' Waters. It is a low-budget, camp sci-fi film by Mike Kuchar from 1965. This colorful movie goes a million years into the future and shows a hedonistic society, in which people willingly let themselves be served by androids. Until the androids start to revolt ... Kuchar combined comic vulgarity with an extremely kitschy visual style, which made the movie a cult classic, that still inspires filmmakers.
Elko Blijweert (Dead Man Ray, Kiss My Jazz, Gruppo di Pawlowski, Tip Toe Topic) released one of the best albums of 2017 with 'I bambini di basilisco' and provides a live soundtrack.
